Those are BIg Scorpions
“There, done,” Kouta stated while setting his pencil down. He then stretched his arms up into the air and released a staggered breath as he felt the pain in his arms echo through his body. Besides finishing the schoolwork due the next day, Kouta was still recovering from the new practice schedule for the kendo club. A tournament was fast approaching and the club now had two practices a day. One in the morning and then the regular one after classes ended.
While he was leaning back in his chair the youth glanced over at the Amusphere that was resting on his bedside table. Then his eyes shifted to the clock that was next to it and saw the time. It was nearly nine o’clock. I guess I have time to burn now that I'm done with everything, he thought while standing up and moving over towards his bed.
Kouta had had dinner already so he was probably not going to be bothered by his family, that was unless his younger sister did not need any help with her schoolwork. I should be fine, he said while lying down on his bed and sliding the Amusphere over his head. He stared at the blank ceiling through the shaded lenses and then said, “Link start.”
The world of his room disappeared as lights flashed around him. When he could finally see again the room he was now in was dimly lit, with only the outside light shining in. Fenix quickly rolled off the bed and jumped to his feet. Then he swiped the air with his left index finger and began navigating the menu to get to his inventory. There he pressed on the activation button to equip his two-handed sword.
“All set,” he said aloud while sweeping away the menus until all he could see was his status bar in the upper left hand corner.
With everything ready for his start for the day he left the room, allowing the door to lock behind him, leaving behind his ownership of the rented room. The inn that he was staying at was in the capital city of the Salamanders. As such the building was made as large as possible so that as many players could stay there as needed. Fenix had been able to get a room on the second floor, so he quickly descended the stairs and reached the main lobby.
“Thank you for staying with us, please visit here again!” An NPC announced to him, as was the custom of most NPCs when you visited their site.
Before he was able to go through the door he saw the bulletin board had a number of new quests added to it. He scanned through them, focusing only on the newest new, causing the ones he had already seen to fade into the background. The one that caught his eye was “Eliminate the Scorpions”.
When he pressed on the paper with his left index finger a question box appeared before him, asking if he wanted to accept the quest. Without any hesitation Fenix clicked the “Accept” button and prepared to embark on his adventure for the evening.
