« BASICS »
Each race has their own faction. Members of the faction can vote for their leaders and can even vote leaders out if certain issues are not handled in the way they want it to be. these elections are held whenever an old faction leader is booted off the ranks either due to impeachment (or members calling a vote to kick them out of power), inactivity (a month without game activity/site inactivity), or meeting their one year term.
faction leaders are supposed to rally characters under their faction, lead them into battles between factions, settle diplomatic meetings with other factions, etc. they are expected to lead their faction fairly and settle any disputes within the faction. the faction leaders can also try to change the alliances between the races as well as wage war on other races for territory or other reasons.
When you pick a race you are already in the race's faction. You cannot change factions. It is not mandatory for you to take part in your faction's military and political actions. You can take part in them if you decide so.

« RULES »
i. You can only be in power once. If you are voted out or your time of power has come to an end, you cannot be voted back into power. This might come to an exception if no one else is willing to be in power.
ii. You cannot vote for yourself. You cannot have one of your characters vote for yourself/your other character.
iii. Faction leaders stay in power up to a year. When that year passes, they must step down from position. This is only for other people to have chances at being in power if they would like to.
iv. abusing your power will put you at risk of impeachment.
v. deputies follow the same rules as leaders, and they are elected in the same way. deputies will often be the strongest fighters while leaders are stronger in diplomacy. this is not set in stone, however, and can often vary between factions.
