« BASICS & YRD »
When players start out, they will have a certain amount of stats depending on what race they select. Different races have different stats depending on how agile they are, how strong they are, and how magic driven they are. You can raise your stats whenever you receive a skill point. ALO is a skill-point driven game so instead of levels, members choose what they want to raise in level. You can find a list of skills here.
Another thing to mention is that, depending on your race, you will be able to use certain weapons. When you start off, you'll get a plain weapon that is determined by your race and your preference. This weapon isn't anything special, but you can make it better by taking it to a blacksmith who can add certain stats for your weapon.
Players start off with 500 yrd. YRD is the currency in ALO. The amount you can have is 100,000 yrd.
You receive 100 yrd per player you take down. When you take down monsters, you will receive 200 yrd per monster. Quests depend on what someone is willing to give to you. Taking down bosses will give you 1,000 - 2,000 yrd.

« STARTING STATS »
Keep in mind, as you get skill points by completing quests and such, you will be able to change these stats. each skill point will give your stats a boost by ten (for attacks and speed) and twenty (for hp and mp). each stat category will only be able to have 200 skill points added to it.

« skills & magic »
There are three different rankings of starting skills depending on the age of the avatar (beginner, intermediate, veteran). those rankings really only effect the skills you start out with rather than stats, weapons, etc. the total can be split up between skills, sword skills, and magic spells. so a beginner can either have two sword skills, two magic spells, or one of each. or, you can put it toward, say, night vision and battle healing, and then you can work towards gaining sword skills and magic later on.
please note that starting skills and magic must be skills and magic found in their information threads. any custom sword skills and magic will come later on.

- beginner: total of two skills
